STECONFER is preparing resources to move on at Kaohsiung LRT Phase 1.

The remaining 2,6 double track kilometres are set to be finalized by 2017 second trimester giving a new empowerment to Kaohsiung citizens.

Project:

The Kaohsiung LRT Project – Phase 1 is the first project of Light Rail in Taiwan and marks the beginning of a new era in terms of transport in urban centres in the country.

The bid was won by the Consortium CAF-Evergreen and the contract between the Kaosiung City Government Mass Rapid Transit Bureau (final client) and the winner Consortium was signed on 19th February 2013. They have divided the turnkey project in both scopes.

On 4th March 2013 a sub-contract was signed between CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A.) and STECONFER (Sociedade Técnica de Construções Ferreas S.A.).

The scope of work of Steconfer is all the track works including imported materials, local materials, placement, manpower, management, quality and safety regarding its scope. 

The project with approximately 8.6 km of double track including a 700m viaduct, has 14 stations, one depot and 6 TSS.

It is an "fastenerless" embedded system with a lawn finish that has the distinction of being "Catenary-free"; an innovative system that has never previously been installed in Australasia.
